SAMIES

Former WW II prisoners of war formed the International Order of Old Bastards (I.O.O.B.) in 1945. The I.O.O.B. was formed in Binsbon Australia where the title old bastard is a term of endearment and is to be used when greeting an old friend or comrade. The S.A.M.I.E.S. Club Chapter 3177 was formed in 1972.

The acronym S.A.M.I.E.S. represents the following divisions of the armed forces:

Service Battalion
Artillery
Medical
Infantry
Engineers
Signals

Objectives

  1. To form and consolidate a group of serving or former members of the Armed Forces, RCMP, Regional and City Police, Fire Departments, EMS, Correction Officers, Security Officers, Relatives of the aforementioned or other individuals at large deemed worthy to be known as Old Bastards so as to continue a spirit of camaraderie.
  2. To provide Charitable donations to handicapped and disadvantaged non-profit youth, senior and Veteran organizations.
  3. To help others less fortunate.
